How do you tell if you have sacroiliac pain ?
Pain coming from the SacroIliac joints (SI joints) feel just like regular low back pain coming from the lumbar spine. However, it is felt more when you rise up to stand from a sitting position. You're sitting and you feel fine, then you lean forward and rise up and that's when you feel the pain. Then, you're standing and you feel fine again (or the pain is much more mild.)
Sacroiliac joint pain can come from an SI joint that is too loose and causing irritation, or a joint that is just inflamed and needs to be adjusted to take the stress off and move some of the inflammation around.
Getting rid of the pain that comes from the sacroiliac joints requires that your doctor look at the low back as well as the legs, knees, and ankles. Ony when the whole lower extremity is working well can the SI joints heal properly.
