Too much of a good thing can be dangerous.

I am a bit surprised that pharmacists and physicians don't warn their patients more about the dangers of chronic use of these medications. Two sentences is all it would take "Only take for two weeks then quit. Taken too often, it will damage your organs."

Patients might then begin to rethink their aches and pains, 'cowboy-up' a bit.

The evidence of the dangers is not new. I remember reading an article published in December 1994 in the NEJM that looked at the dangers of Tylenol and other NSAIDs. In that study, the kidney damage was highlighted. It seems like the researchers found that 8-10% of all kidney failure could be attributed to long-term use of those medications.

Great article! These are really helpful exercises and stretches! I think patients would also benefit by altering their work station to make it more ergodynamic and user friendly, so to speak. :)
Do you have any tips to help with that?

Excellent article, Dr. Lloyd. It is informative and written in a style that is easy to follow. Patients benefit when their doctors are better informed. Keep up the good work, and good writing.

Great post. This is a common condition treated in chiropractic offices. I have seen countless patients come in with TOS and several have reported long histories of pain and dysfunction. It seems that the biggest source of frustration for the patients is the delay in accurate diagnosis. Once that hurdle is passed, the appropriate treatment plan can be started.

Great information. I just posted about similar situations. So many people don't realize they had an injury until it's much later.. days, weeks or even months later. Just because there are no symptoms, doesn't mean there isn't trauma to the soft tissues.

I was ejected from a car that filpped in the air and spun 3 times doing 80 mph and I flew out the back window. What a trip. I never did see a doctor and know my backs screwed. I seen a chiropractor my insurance appointed to me and they just made it worse.

Great step by step actions a person should take if in an auto accident. Most people know the basics, but not the importance of taking pics of and getting checked by a chiropractor.
