“Back Pain is Boomer’s Most Common Health Complaint”
Money magazine has a special “Baby Boomer’s” issue dedicated to some of the financial issues that Baby Boomer’s face. Among them are problems with ears ($3,000 digital aids per ear), eyes ($1,500 conductive keratoplasty per eye), knees and shoulders ($2,000 and up for surgery), hips ($23,000 to $43,000 for surgery), general fitness ($2.00 to $3,500 per year), and of course the back (below.)

Fortunately, chiropractic care is the treatment of choice for low back problems.
Of course, chiropractic care is more than just spinal manipulation. Chiropractic care involves the use of appropriate muscle therapies, active exercise techniques, nutritional advice, and natural therapies for long-term pain relief.
It’s true that for acute care, 4-6 visits (or less!) may be all that is needed, but for lasting relief and good function, many patients choose to have periodic “supportive” care to keep up their spinal flexibility. It’s also important to realize that there may be more visits necessary depending on the chronicity of the spinal problem. For example, those with degenerative osteoarthritis (degenerative joint disease) will take longer to heal and will take more effort with visits and exercises to have the desired outcomes.
I would also like to point out that our fees at Lloyd Chiropractic are significantly less than the $130 to $150 for initial visit and $50 to $70 for follow-ups. Hmmm, time to raise the rates?
