Tales of Sonoma

Home» Clinical Care of the spine » Tales of Sonoma

If you live in Sonoma or Napa, and you have grown complacent about where we live, then I’ve got an audiobook recommendation to you.  This time in particular, I am recommending an audiobook because of a recent trip that my parents made to visit their new grandson:

While I was driving everyone around, I put on an audiobook that I recently downloaded from Audible.com.  It was written about 8 years ago, and it talks about events that happened in Sonoma and Napa about ten years ago, but it’s required reading for anyone living in our two valleys.   The book is called A Tale of Two Valleys. I read this book about a year ago, but the audiobook is much better.

A Tale of Two Valleys: Wine, Wealth and the Battle for the Good Life in Napa and Sonoma

I took everyone to The goat cheese factory down in the Carneros region as the audiobook was describing the green rolling hills in Sonoma.  As we were driving back up Napa road, the book was describing the chicken controversy in the Sonoma Plaza.  We drove out to Gundlach Bundschu winery, and as we passed all the perfectly manicured rows of vines, the book was describing the arrangement of vines in a different winery across the valley.

If you are driving through any part of the Northern California Wine country, this is an excellent book to listen to along the way.  Even when I was sitting at home in Sonoma, reading the book for the first time, I was longing to be in Sonoma, at the plaza during the farmer’s market.  It made me really glad to be a part of this community. Now, I’m really proud to be a part of the community because of my new chiropractic office in Sonoma.

As a part of my ongoing learning experience, I listen to a lot of audiobooks. For me, it’s really easy to listen to a book, become enveloped in the narrative that it provides, while saving my eye sight for the strain of looking at a computer screen. When you listen to this book you’ll learn how the local bohemians saved the Sonoma outlook trail from the evil developers.  This is the perfect book to listen to while hiking the outlook trail. Audible.com is my vendor of choice to buy and listen to audiobooks.  With the link below, you can get a free book, and you can do like I do, subscribe to a new audiobook a month.
