Hot on the Heals of Chiropractic’s Demonstration of Cost Savings, Drug Makers Raise Prices
Drug Makers Raising Prices Before Reform – NYTimes.com
Of course, pharmaceutical companies are anticipating the worst from the upcoming health care reform, as are doctor’s offices of all kinds. These drug companies are setting to raise their prices for the product that they push to help pay for more research and development of more drugs.
Ten years ago, I heard an instructor tell us that the average man, woman, and child takes 11 prescriptions a day. He said, “I don’t take any, so someone must be taking up to 22 prescriptions to make up for it.” I thought, “I don’t take any either, so maybe someone is taking 33 drugs a day.”
Of course, your body is the number one doctor in your life, making all the chemicals that you need, and in the right amounts. It’s external things that tend to mess us up.
What has been shown to reduce costs for patients and insurance when patients have back pain? Chiropractic care, of course. Chiropractic care doesn’t use drugs to numb the pain, or to speed up the nerves. Chiropractic care does this naturally. Chiropractic care does cut off the pain signals, and it does speed up the other signals. This is a safe alternative to pain killing drugs.
So while the drug companies are raising their prices for their treatments that may not be very safe anyway, why not break the habit of popping pills, and get your spine popped instead.
