The Body’s Self-Healing Mechanisms

Home» Clinical Care of the spine » The Body’s Self-Healing Mechanisms

The body has an innate ability to heal itself.  Unlike simple machines, our bodies are self correcting, and self healing.  Molecular signaling tells the body where to lay down new bone, where to activate fibroblasts for scar tissue, and how and when to generate new cells.  Much of this signaling occurs through the nervous system, and this has historically been one of the fundamental principles of chiropractic wellness.

A new article in the New York Times talks about how the human body self-corrects the small cancer cells that show up in the body.  Cancers cells are seen to shrink and disappear with testicular cancer all of the time.  People get scheduled for surgery to cut out the cancer, and they find instead a cluster of scar tissue where the cancer once was.  Or they find the cancerous cluster of cells, but they’ve shrunk, and they’re surrounded by scar tissue, showing that the body is actively fighting the cancer. Now, people are wondering if other cancers in other parts of the body are disappearing too, and if they have boon too aggressive with cancer screening and treatment.

The human body has an incredible ability to heal its self when maintained properly.
Without the use of surgery or the regular intake of medication, Chiropractic therapy can stimulate the body to heal itself in the way nature intended.
